Gordon Ellis, P.Eng, MBA, CDIR, Chairman, Director and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ellis was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Lupaka Gold Corp. in October 2015. He has been Chairman of the Company since its inception.
Mr. Ellis has been involved with the mining industry and resource development for over 40 years. He is a former owner/manager of a geophysical exploration consulting firm and has held senior management and director roles with a number of publicly-traded mining exploration and development companies. The last two companies for which he was chairman were acquired by much larger firms in 2003 and 2010.
Eric H. Edwards, MBA, Director
Eric Edwards has over 25 years total experience in gold mining and exploration, having held a number of positions in operations, business development and corporate finance.
From January 2011 until October 2015, Mr. Edwards was President and Chief Executive Officer of Lupaka Gold Corp. Prior to that, Mr. Edwards was Chief Financial Officer of Andean Resources Limited, acquired by Goldcorp in December 2010. Mr. Edwards served as Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Queenstake Resources Ltd. where he coordinated the public process and eventual merger of Queenstake with YGC Resources to form Yukon Nevada Gold Corporation. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Edwards has been Chief Financial Officer for a number of publicly-traded gold companies including Viceroy Resource Corporation and Ivanhoe Mines. Mr. Edwards was the CFO for Ivanhoe Mines during the time that the company completed the initial public offering raising over $C 275 million. Mr. Edwards has completed a number of acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, equity placements, project recourse facilities and corporate bridge facilities.
Mr. Edwards has held a number of operating positions including with; Kinross Gold at Fort Knox Mine in Alaska, NERCO Con Mine in Yellowknife, NWT, and AngloGold Jerritt Canyon Mine in Nevada. Mr. Edwards was the General Manager at the TVX Gold Mineral Hill Mine in Montana before transferring to a corporate business development role for TVX Gold.
Mr. Edwards holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Geology from Utah State University.
Norman Keevil III, P Eng., Director
Mr. Keevil has been related to the mining industry all of his life. He is a Professional Engineer and president of Poncho Wilcox Engineering and sits on the Board of Teck (formerly Teck Cominco), the largest diversified mining, mineral processing and metallurgical company in Canada. Mr. Keevil brings a wealth of mining experience and relationships to the Board.
Stephen Silbernagel, Director
Prior to his retirement at the end of 2009, Mr. Silbernagel spent over 35 years practicing law in Vancouver, primarily in the areas of corporate and commercial law. He also has many years experience as director of various public companies traded on stock exchanges in both the US and Canada. In his retirement he continues as director of both public and private companies.
Lucio Pareja, Director
Mr. Lucio Pareja has been involved in mining from an early age. Coming from an established Peruvian mining family, Lucio obtained Masters and PhD degrees in mining engineering from Queens University in Ontario, Canada. He has extensive mining experience; his responsibilities having ranged from individual project construction and operation to the CEO of one of Peru's largest mining companies. He is currently a Director of Mining Engineering at UTEC, a new Peruvian engineering and technology university and team leader in charge of developing the mining engineering program.
Luquman Shaheen, PEng., Director
Mr. Luquman Shaheen has been President, CEO and director of Panoro Minerals Ltd. since April 2008, a mineral exploration company which is publicly-listed on the TSXV. In June 1990, Mr. Shaheen obtained his bachelor of applied science degree in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and in September 2004, his master's degree in business administration from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, Canada. Mr. Shaheen is a registered professional engineer in the Province of British Columbia and the State of Alaska and holds an inactive professional engineer's license in the State of Washington. He has worked in the mining sector for over 22 years, in Peru and Latin America for over 17 years, which included living in Peru for 6 years.
